Living as if you owned it - with
the flexible permanent right of residence

Living in a permanent residence means having an apartment without a mountain of debt.

With a permanent right of residence, a right similar to ownership, you live as if you were in your own condominium. When you purchase a permanent right of residence, you agree with Wohnungsgenossenschaft „EINHEIT“ eG Chemnitz on a period of use for the house or apartment of 10, 15 or 20 years. After that, you can decide whether you want to acquire another permanent right of residence (extension) or buy one. You are therefore very flexible and not necessarily tied to the apartment for life. Even unforeseen events such as moving to a distant location for work, changes in the family or serious illness are taken into account by the possibility of returning the permanent right of residence.

By paying a one-off fee of at least 20,000 euros (this sum does not even pay for the plot of land when building your own home), you acquire the permanent right of residence and can use a condominium for the agreed period. To ensure that everything is in order, an agreement is concluded and the permanent right of residence is entered in the land register.

In addition to the aforementioned one-off fee of at least EUR 20,000, a monthly usage fee, similar to rent, must be paid. The one-off fee is offset - so you pay this amount.
